This new production "PIAZZA ITALIA" (Pomodoro kosmos) by Gigi CACIULEANU, is in the style in which Gigi excels, humour and inuendo.

This is an invitation to a choreographic trip in Italy. The "Italos" seen by "Gigi the lovelorn", with all his humour and energy, but also with his sensitivity. Gigi does not have any intention of sticking to the traditional image of gondolas and palaces. Above all he will dance the Italy of today to you, with its clothes, its "design", its exported "look", All this, although it as not fundamentally altered the "Italo" soul, has seriously shaken up modern aesthetic outlook, with its fashion, its publicity, and its mediterranean "chic". This is certainly a declaration of love, but it is also the poet walking his way.

The "mamas" and the "ragazzi", the food and tomato sauce, the "spaghetti" and the "bambini", the "papisti" and the "nones", the "black shirts" and, of course, "l'amore", all this which goes to make Italy, cruel, tender, macho. What a world to discover !

Technically, Gigi develops an original dance pattern in this novel production, drawing deeply on his encounters during his American and Japanese tours, and enriched by the discoveries he has made throughout the world. More prolific than ever, Gigi invites you to experience a new dynamism in the THEATRE CHOREGRAPHIQUE, and promises you exciting surprises. This is a production which dance lovers will find "different from others".

The production's world of sound borrows music from Italy of today and yesterday. You will hear Nino Rota, Scarlatti, Adriano Celentano, etc, etc... against a background which, while it remains "typically" Italo, is at the same time truly contemporary, moving, and where all the "gadgetry" of the label "made in Italy", can be seen in Dan Mastacan's creations.
